Panama Still Mum On Howard AFB

Will the Chinese get their air field in Central America?

We don't know. The Panamanians have been sitting on the bids for the mothballed Howard Airforce Base, just yards from the Pacific in one of the most strategic sites on the planet, for a week and a half.

Interests from China, the US, Brittain and Mexico reportedly submitted bids. China already operates the ports on both ends of the canal.

I just completed a scrub of the Internet and the blogosphere, and there's just no news. That probably means the Panamanians are negotiating with the top couple of bidders. Hold on.
