2006 Like 2005 In Gaza

An Israeli helicopter fired one missile into a car in a North Gaza camp, in response to recent Palestinian attacks. The Jerusalem Post reports:

Israeli security officials identified one of the dead as Said Abu Jidian a senior Islamic Jihad commander.

Palestinian media reports identified the second Palestinian killed in the attack as Akram Gadas. There were conflicting reports regarding the condition of a third passenger, with some claiming he was critically wounded and others claiming he was killed in the attack.

A new year dawns with two, maybe three, fewer terrorist leaders ... and more of the same sad insanity.

If the Palestinians had spent their energy on building their nation, first in Gaza and the camps, then in lands negotiated in good faith, instead of focusing on destroying the world-granted nation of Israel, how much better the world would be today. For them, for Israel and for them.

But that's not the route Palestine took; instead, money was stolen and squandered, hope refired into hate.

These are hatreds thousands of years old, but one great Palestinian leader could have turned history on its ear. Still could. Where is he? Where is she?
