Is an open debate on global warming possible?

I don't think so. I posted a humorous bit on global warming on Mars and Pluto recently and got a dozen or so posts from a Warmie evangelical trying to bring me to faith with facts ... an elementary error if ever there was one.

Now this:

Whoever thought that serious commentators would want it made illegal to have a row about the weather? One Australian columnist has proposed outlawing ‘climate change denial’.

‘David Irving is under arrest in Austria for Holocaust denial’, she wrote. ‘Perhaps there is a case for making climate change denial an offence. It is a crime against humanity, after all.’

Others have suggested that climate change deniers should be put on trial in the future, Nuremberg-style, and made to account for their attempts to cover up the ‘global warming…Holocaust’.

They could join those imprisoned for pointing out that the Alar apple scare was a fabrication, those that question computer models that say thousands of species are dying daily ... and those who spoke out in the 1970s, denying global cooling.

Of course, most Warmies would never say anything like the two quoted above. Think it, sure, but say it?

Disclaimer on art: By running this art, I do not mean in any way to imply Warmies would actually burn someone at the stake for global warming denial. Too many greenhouse gases, you know.
