Watcher's Winners
My entry this week in the Watcher of Weasels' blogfest, The Most Ridiculous Story of 2008 (Part 2) fared pretty well, coming in a strong second. I'm glad people enjoyed my fisking of this over-the-top Obama-rama of love fest brought to us by WaPo.
I'm also very glad that the Watcher's Council voted Done With Mirrors' A Short Hitch as the best post of the week. Ironically, he started it with a statement that "nobody's going to read the whole thing" -- because it was one long thing -- but his essay on the Confederate flag's meaning, its politics and the politicians that play with it was fascinating from beginning to end.
Over on the non-Council side, Small Wars Journal's Changing the Organizational Culture (Updated) swept the competition. It's an important and positive piece about how the military is adapting to new media. We've been losing the propaganda war since the outset; this could turn that important theater of the war around.

Thanks, Watcher, for this midwinter's night read.
