Surprise To Dems: Al Qaeda Says It IS In Iraq

Dem rhetoric has always said that if we want to fight al Qaeda, we shouldn't be in Iraq. Not that they want us to fight them elsewhere -- at least I haven't heard any suggestions from them on where we should fight AQ if not in Iraq .

If AQ isn't in Iraq, then why did Ayman al-Zawahri, AQ's #2, have this to say about the Dem's now-vetoed white flag bills?

"This bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap," al-Zawahri said, according to a transcript released by the monitoring group SITE. The bill is evidence of American "failure and frustration," he added.

"We ask Allah that they (U.S. troops) only get out of it after losing 200,000 to 300,000 killed, in order that we give the spillers of blood in Washington and Europe an unforgettable lesson," he said. (AP)

He's got it part right: The Dems' bill is the outgrowth of their frustration -- that you can't win wars against an entrenched enemy in a week or two, that people are going to lose their lives in order to stop AQ, and most of all, that Bush is in power.

Frustration, sure. We all feel it. But failure? Only if the Dems prevail. And if they prevail in Iraq, guess what? Despite the Dems' blindness, it won't end then. al-Z again:
"Al-Qaida is not merely for the benefit of Muslims. That's why I want blacks in America, people of color, American Indians, Hispanics, and all the weak and oppressed in North and South America, in Africa and Asia, and all over the world."
Don't you think it would be better to fight them over there? The Dems haven't quite grasped the point -- and I bet they're not reading what al-Z has to say.
