Iranian Crocodile Tears

Jalal Sharafi -- number 2 at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad -- was siezed by someone in Iraq yesterday, then released, and you'd think the Iran regime wasn't an international pariah by the way it responded.
The Iranian government condemned the seizure ... saying [Sharafi] was seized Sunday by gunmen who "operate under the supervision of the American forces in Iraq," the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns this aggressive act which is in violation of international law," IRNA quoted Hosseini as saying. "Iran holds American forces in Iraq responsible for the safety and life of the Iranian diplomat." (AP)

Golly. Would that be the same Islamic Republic of Iran that came to power via the seizure of our entire diplomatic staff in Tehran in 1979? The same "republic" that is peppered with senior officers who participated in the siezure -- perhaps even president Mah- "I'm- in- the- moud for bad diplomacy" Ahmadinejad (rhymes with a Yoda-like "For 444 days, them we had") himself?

We're denying involvement, but who really cares whether it was our guys, some Iraqi allies or the Israelis? This latrine of a government has no right to feel safe in Baghdad.

Also rich is this:
The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, said the gunmen used American vehicles ....
Wasn't it just last month that the Iranians were suspected as the masterminds of the Karbalah attack in which five of our fine young men were killed by slime who used American vehicles to sneak up on our post?

Give a dose, get a dose, my Islamofascist friends. Get used to it -- there's not a Jimmy Carter clone in the White House yet.
