Democrat's Victory In Terror War Plan and the Hanauer/Foley MSM Bias Index

As the election draws near, we're getting a clearer picture of the Dem plan for victory against terrorism:
Cal. Dem. Jan Harmon is of course the gal who got the plum appointment -- a story Time Magazine broke. The LATimes broke the story that a Dem aide to the Intelligence Committee leaded the NIE, and it has since been uncovered by Fox News that the aide, Larry Hanauer, works for Harmon.

As for the most fantastic of these tales, the Kennedy proposal to KGB chief Andropov to work together to bring down Reagan, that's from a book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism by Paul Kengor, which led to a CNS story and a blogstorm. MSM coverage is to date nonexistent; a Nexis search for "Kennedy and Andropov" for the last week yields no MSM stories yet. We'll be tracking that over the next several days.

In terms of media influence on the election, a new Cheat-Seeking Missiles index, the Hanauer/Foley Index*, shows that MSM is still tilting left -- 481 Hanauer stories and 990 Foley stories -- but let's track this over the next few days. (It is astonishing that Foley is still running 1,000 stories a day ... he's the JonBenet of politics!)
Hauer/Foley MSM Bias Index: Left 2
All this conspiratorial dirt against our nation is breaking at a time that it stop big GOP losses in November -- if it gets sustained coverage, if it trumps war fatigue, and if patriotism can win out over Bush hatred.

* How the Index works: Perfect MSM balance yields an index of 0, as stories of alleged NIE report leaker Larry Hanauer balance stories of Mark Foley's homosexual lust scandals. Less coverage of Hanauer/more coverage of Foley yields a "left" score, indicating leftist bias, with the number preceding "left" indicating the number of times greater Foley's coverage is. Greater Hanauer/lesser Foley coverage yields a "right" score with a similar multiplier.
