Happy Whatever

Stuart Shepard, managing editor of Focus on the Family's Family News in Focus, has come up with politically correct names for various holidays. Call it venting over anti-Christmas activism if you want; I'll just call it funny. Here they are:
  • Signficant Other Person or Object Day is celebrated on Feb. 14
  • Wear Green but Don't Mention a Specific Nationality Day comes around in mid-April
  • Celebrate with a Knowing Smile all the Europeans Who Claim to have Discovered an Already Occupied Continent Day is cause for celebration every October
National Journal's Inside Washington also suggests a "Fat Guy Coming Down the Chimney Day." I'd add to the list "Day of Football and Feasting When We Give Thanks to the Host and Hostess but not to Any Higher Power," but I think it's OK to keep Halloween because it's politically correct to by nice to witches, right?

p.s.: Incredible Daughter #3 suggests an alternative for Valentines Day: Mean Little Baby Goes Around and Shoots People with Arrows Day.
