Lebanon's Tueni Investigation

Interesting goings-on in Lebanon as the investigation of reporter/ legislator/ freedom advocate Gebran Tueni gears up. According to the Lebanon Daily Star:
  • One assassination co-conspirator may well be an airport or airline employee, given that Tueni was killed shortly after his return from France, and before his presence in Lebanon was widely known.
  • Ownership of the Renault that exploded is considered key, and Lebanese authorities are holding the importer and the dealer. It is believed they will be held until the identity of the buyer is determined. The fact that they are being held indicates they are not cooperating.
  • Several people have been questioned, including some who resemble the sketch of the person who planted the bomb.
Pssst, chief investigator Rashid Mezher, Syr-i-a, check out Syria. And if that pans out, check the traffic in and out of the Iranian embassy.
