Europe Is Learning

Europe is coming around. Many of its people and leaders have long been anti-Israel and pro-Palestine, seeing bruttal Palestinian terrorists as freedom fighters.

No more. The world has learned a lot about terror in the last four years, and while there may still be sympathy for their plight, there is no tolerance for Palestinian terror tactics.

AP reports that Javier Solana, the European Union's security chief, has warned that European aid to Palestine will be cut off if Hamas wins next month's Palestinian Authority elections and fails to denounce violence and recognize Israel's right to exist. The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution to similar effect.

Palestinians have been known to take the course of most self-destruction, so it will be interesting to see if the warnings are heeded, or exploited.
