More On The Stern Report

Yesterday, I posted on the Stern Review, which justifies beheading the global economy in the name of jihad against global warming.

Today, there's an excellent opinion piece in the Las Vegas Review Journal editorial which includes this compelling argument against the hysteria* of the Stern Report:
It would be a compelling talking point, if not for an inconvenient truth: The link between oil use by the world's richest and most populous nations and slight warming in parts of the planet (not to mention the coming climatic and economic disasters predicted by environmentalists) is theory. The economic devastation that would result from immediate, radical restrictions on industrial and vehicle emissions, meanwhile, is undisputed fact.
Aye, there's the rub. How much do you trust the grant-grubbing, incestuously amplified high priests of Warmism?

* Hysteria? Jihad? Strong words. Here's some more strong words from the Stern Review itself:
There is still time to avoid the worst impacts ... if we act now and act internationally. But the task is urgent. Delaying action, even by a decade or two, will take us into dangerous territory. We must not let this window of opportunity close.
Even a decade or two? Hysteria.
