Said attorney, who I heard on the radio so no link, sorry, is represented two LA women in their mid-70s who are accused killing old guys for their welfare checks. He wants them out of jail in a hurry, and this is his talking point.

He's right to want them out -- conditions in the LA County jail are surely much, much worse than those in Guantanamo.
