Peacemakers Freed ... Now What?

The three remaining Christian Peacemaker team captives were freed by the US forces they hate so this morning, without a shot being fired. Details here.

The Peacemakers ask that no one be harmed in attempts to rescue them, and they got their wish. The house in which they were held was unoccupied when our soldiers raided it, following up on a fresh tip. Their wishes notwithstanding, too bad the Islamofruitcake captors weren't around.

Now there are now two things to watch: First, how will captives James Loney, Harmeet Singh Sooden and Norman Kember behave towards the US and the war following this experience? Don't count on conversion to logic and understanding. They aren't likely to change, particularly since they now will be media darlings, and will be in the spotlight for a while.

And second, something we won't see if it occurs, will their captives now be freshly converted Christians? Did the Peacemakers use their captivity like Paul did, working feaverishly to convert their guards to Christianity? Unless they're just exploiting the word "Christian" in their name, they should have been planting and cultivating some seeds of salvation.
