Meathead Gone Racid
Rob Reiner was bad enough on All in the Family, and he's gotten progressively worse since then.
Debra Saunders has a good summary at Real Clear Politics of just how self-righteous, Socialist and corrupt Reiner has become. She concludes:
Using taxpayer money, we labored away to promote early childhood education -- including spending over $10,000 (perhaps well over; I really don't remember) renaming the Orange County commission so it better communicated its function.
It was a wonderful process. Such a good use of taxpayer money. Guided by the visionary commission members, we changed the name from the Children and Families Commission of Orange County to ... ta da! ... The Orange County Children and Families Commission.
Or maybe it was the other way around. In either case, the process convinced me to stop going after government contracts, a good thing.
But what we did is, on a micro scale, the sort of silliness Reiner's activities further on a grand scale. It's time to indict him for misuse of public funds, fire his entire Prop. 10 commission and staff, and teach Californians that bad ideas breed bad policy and bad results ... before they approve Reiner's even worse Proposition 82.

Why, Reiner knows that all children are better off in a preschool program than at home. He knows that state taxpayers should pay double what the state pays for preschool, and improvements will follow. He knows that millionaires won't leave if faced with another soak-the-rich tax. In fact, Reiner knows so much, his First 5 fiefdom didn't hesitate to spend $23 million of state money to tell you how to think about preschool.I have a Reiner story to tell ... not that I ever met him, but my agency did have a Proposition 10 (First 5) contract. That prop, Reiner's first, taxed California smokers 50 cents a pack to fund early childhood education programs.
