Face Transplant Woman Speaks
Her name is Isabelle Dinoire, and she looks pretty darn good, doesn't she?
She spoke to reporters today for the first time since becoming the world's first face transplant recipient. Dinoire was attacked by her dog and left pretty much with nothing from the nose down.
Reuters reports she "spoke in slurred and labored tones," but that she is thrilled with the results of the surgery.
"I want to resume a normal life," she told the reporters. Despite the ethical questions her surgery raised -- the donor had to still be "alive" when her face was removed -- it is thrilling to see a terribly disfigured person able to face the world with a normal face.
