Pornographers Want Kids' Addresses

The porn industry trade group is the Free Speech Coalition -- amazing since there's so little speaking in pornography -- and they don't like it when people stop them from throwing image-laden "free speech" towards our kids in the form of spam.

Last week, the pornattorneys filed a lawsuit against Utah, attempting to overturn a sensible Utah law that makes protects kids' email addresses from spammers. Says the boss of the company Utah hired to protect kids' email addresses:
“Up to 30 percent of the visitors to pornographic websites are children, and how they get attracted to them often are by emails sent to them. I think the adult products industry says, ‘We want to get as many eyeballs on our site as possible,’ and therefore there are a lot of companies out there that are very sloppy about how they manage their lists."
He also said the pornattorney's suit was "an attempt by pornographers to continue to send spam to our children."

That brought another suit. It'll be a tough one. Imagine pornographers convincing a jury in Utah that their reputation was harmed!

Take a moment to ponder the Vision Statement of the Free Speech Coalition. Rarely will you see one so self-centered and exploitative:
We envision a national association that helps limit the legal risks of being an adult business, increases the profitability of its members, promotes the acceptance of the industry in America's business community, and supports greater public tolerance for freedom of sexual speech.
