Watergate: No One Cares

Sales of Bob Woodward's "The Secret Man" on Deep Throat/Mark Felt has sold only a disappointing 60,000 copies nationwide since it's publication -- about a third the sales of Woodward's previous book, "Plan of Attack" on the Iraq war. (source)

Mark Felt the man is not nearly as interesting as Deep Throat the myth, and Watergate was thirty-plus years ago and just doesn't matter any more.

Woodward slam-wrote an opportunistic book and the American public saw it as nothing different from the books on the Jackson trial that showed up a couple weeks after it ended.
