Warped Priorities

Has a single Dem member of Congress condemned Dick Durbin for his comments? Has a single one of them said that putting American soldiers at risk should be cause for dismissal from leadership?

Not a peep. But 16 of them felt strongly enough about the way George Bush appointee Kenneth Tomlinson is running PBS that:
Minutes before [Tomlinson] spoke, 16 Democratic senators released a letter asking President Bush to remove the presidential appointee from his post at the CPB, a nonprofit that distributes federal funds to public television and radio stations. They accused Tomlinson of "undermining, underfunding and ultimately undoing its mission." (LATimes)
My gosh. Isn't that what Durbin did? Except that he was undermining brave US soldiers and trying to undo their mission of saving America from Islamic terrorists, something of gravely greater importance that whatever might be going on at P yawn ... B yawn ... S yawn. Present at the press conference were senators Chuck Schumer and Diane Feinstein, who, for some strange reason, the LAT saw fit to label as "a democrat," while Schumer went unlabled.

Tomlinson, by the way, was appointed by Clinton and only re-appointed by Bush.

It is amazing that these pathetic electeds can get all charged up about an effort to bring a little moderation and balance into a notoriously unbalanced, tax-subsidized network, and not comment at all on the unbelievably immoderate, unbalanced and dangerous rants of their #2 (appropriate) man in the Senate.
