Bad Quote, Good News Of The Day
Jackie Goldberg: What's that on her left ring finger?
"Unless you are willing to look me in the face
and say I am not a human being, just as you are,
you have no right to deny me access to marriage
in this state or anywhere else."
CA Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg
and say I am not a human being, just as you are,
you have no right to deny me access to marriage
in this state or anywhere else."
CA Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg
OK, then, if that's my only option, you're not a human being, Jackie. But of course, that's not the only option, and even the strident, corrupt, insufferable Jackie Goldberg is most certainly a human being. She's just not entitled in California to marry her gay lover.
An overwhelming number of we Californians voted in favor of Prop. 22, settling the matter decisively: marriage means a man and a woman getting married. Tough if you don't like it, Jackie, but we're going to put the health of society and the future of our children ahead of your selfishness. Live with her, get all the benefits, and stay away from the wedding band counter.
The good news
The bill Goldberg was talking about, AB19 by San Francisco gay radical legislator Mark Leno, appears to be going down to defeat. If passed, it would legalize gay marriage in the state, and speak greatly of the arrogance of the Dem majority in the State House.
Late last night, according to the Sacramento Bee, five Dems voted against the bill, while one Dem was absent and seven did not cast ballots, resulting in the bill going down 35-37. That's dangerously close, and Leno's still trying as Friday's deadline for legislation nears.
