Today's LATimes has a wonderful story on the military tradition that so confuses the liberal "only people who can't do any better go into the service" mindset: The story of a father/vet who re-enlisted so he could be with his son in Iraq.
Re-enlistee Kendall Phelps, a Vietnam vet, said simple, "I'm a father and a marine. I can't separate the two. I need to be there with Chris," his son.
