UN Sex Scandal Spreads to Burundi
The slow pace of UN investigation and prosecution of Peacekeeper child abuse in Congo is doing nothing to deter UN forces elsewhere in Africa. From today's NY Times:
Two peacekeepers are being investigated for sexual misconduct in Burundi after an inquiry into sexual abuse in neighboring Congo, the United Nations said Friday.
The soldiers, whose nationalities and reported abuses were not disclosed, have been suspended, said a spokesman, Stephane Dujarric.
What exactly does "suspended" mean? Anything remotely related to "prosecuted?"
