A total of 11,246 soldiers have been wounded or killed in action in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. The percentage of U.S. soldiers who survived their wounds:

• Persian Gulf War 76%
• Vietnam War 76%
• Korean War 75%
• World War II 70%
• World War I 79%
