Objectivity? Schmobjectivity!

Forgive them, Father, even though they know darn well what they do. From the front page of today's LA Times, a story on Daschle's defeat. Quoted in the story:

• A lead off quote attributing the defeat to the simple fact that South Dakotans dump Dems after three terms. Nothing more at work here.
• A woman in tears because Daschle put South Dakota on the map. Just like McGovern did.
• A woman who's farm was used for a Daschle campaign event backdrop.
• A former Dem legislator blaming the defeat on "a perfect storm" for the "religious right," who then says Thune will be ignored in DC.
• A deli worker who called Thune a rock star and said he, the deli dude, would move to Canada.

The article quotes Thune and one of his staffers -- but not one South Dakota citizen who supported Thune. Could the reporter not find any Thune supporters?
