7:31 p.m. PST Election Night
Rick Brady has the most important post this election day. Hat tip Hugh.
Like many this year, I'm watching Fox and have my laptop busy scurrying from site to site to stay current and balanced. Relief is starting to slip in, but it is still early.
Exit polling and election fraud will be the hangover of this election, no matter who wins.
After two consecutive presidential campaigns in which key East Coast and Midwest exit polls were flawed, we need to hold the polling firms accountable. That goes doubly for Zogby. That firm should not survive its performance this year, particularly the stunt it pulled today, calling the election for Kerry on a 900-call national survey that included NO ONE from Florida or Ohio!
Switching from polls to pols, the tired old excuses for loose voting rules are shot. Everyone knows loose rules are for fraud, not franchisement.
The Dems' false allegations and leaked strategy memos sink any credibility they might have had in arguing that having to show a picture ID to vote is disenfranchising. They cannot continue to shout voter fraud and continue to fight the movement towards tightening our voting system.
If we enter the 2008 elections without a successful national movement towards picture voter IDs, shame on us.
