Watcher's Winners
The Watcher's Council was all over the place this week, with votes tossed around like runners at Pamplona, and no entry getting more than 2 1/3 votes. That honor went to Joshuapundit, for Black Liberation Theology, a well-deserving post that tracks the history of the theology and the beliefs of some of its high profile proponents, leaving the reader (me, at least) very worried.
Coming in second among Council members was another exceptional piece, Another UN Obscenity, from Wolf Howling. The post tracks Muslim countries' efforts to get a measure through the UN HumanRights Wrongs Council that would place a global ban on criticisms of Islam. Clean up your house, then we'll clean up our criticisms!
I was surprised that my entry, Answering Yasmine, got a couple votes. I periodically enter posts for no other reason than evangelism, as was the case this week, and don't really expect votes in return.
Over on the non-Council side, I must have missed something, as 5 Years, 1 year from Acute Politics won the show. Looking back over the entry now -- about a soldier's memories of Iraq, tied to the sounds of the place -- I realize it's a deserving winner.
The must-read of the week, NY Times Reporters Try To Defend Grave Mistake -- Of Course Fails came in second. It's a lengthy detailing of the NYT's FISA "wiretap" story, showing how the paper's failed patriotism was topped only by its ignorance of the technology it was writing about.

Thanks, Watcher, for this week's running of the no bull at Watcher of Weasels.
