Watcher's Picks

One of the best essays I've read all year, Fighting Back Was not an Option, which appeared on Big Lizards, was selected as the far and away winner on the Watcher's of Weasel's Watcher's Council this week. It is about bravery, heroism, fear and evil, and if you haven't read it yet, give yourself a treat this weekend.

My post Media at Its Worst on Display at Virginia Tech came in a rather distant second. I was wrong, by the way; they (first NBC, then the pack) got even worse.

This week's entries were all really well done, so let's look at the other well-deserving bunch: Happy Netted Nose by Done With Mirrors, The Beast Among Us by Eternity Road, They Should Get Out More by The Glittering Eye, Hokie Horror by Rhymes with Right; Confession: I Hate Democracy by Right Wing Nuthouse; When Sorry is Really ... 'Sorry' by Joshuapundit; Desgregation Consternation by The Colossus of Rhodey and Hero and Villian by Soccer Dad.

My nomination for best Non-Council entry, The Laughter in the Dark, about terrorists and terrorist-appeasers was appreciated by the others, too, as it topped that list.

I also really liked Bill Clinton Graps Some Contributions for Hillary, a very funny photo-post, and The Propery Way To Die, an amazing story of a rabbi in the Warsaw ghetto who didn't have to, but picked the proper way to die nonetheless.

Catch the rest of the entries here.
