"The Right Not To Publish"

Hugh Hewitt, who happens to be sitting right in front of me at the moment, would like this item from the London Times:
According to a new Populus poll for The Times, two thirds of voters think Muslims must accept the principle of freedom of speech and the right of papers to publish such cartoons. But, true to liberal principles, they do not think that editors should publish them, out of respect for the Muslim community.
I'm still not quite in his camp. I like the whole concept of mutual respect quite a lot and there are certainly times for it in this debate. But there are also times when it's important to make the radical Islamists look silly, because it will hurt their recruitment efforts. This is such a time.
