Hariri Assassination Anniversary

Look for big demonstrations in Lebanon tomorrow as the anniversary of Rafik Hariri's death is marked.

The elder Hariri's son, Saad, a leader of anti-Syrian forces in the country, has returned to the country after a self-imposed exile and schools and businesses will be closed for the occasion.

Not participating is Hezbollah, of course, being more interested in Syrian funding of their terrorist operations than they are in liberty for Lebanon. The forces of freedom hope to mess up Hezbollah's wishes, resparking the quest for freedom that has grown dim in Lebanon after a brief flash a year ago.

Still to come: The UN's final report on the assassination. Saad Hariri said today he hopes the report will come swiftly and name Syrian names. Hopeful ... but remote.
