With Apologies To Gilda Radner
What's all this about Starry Dee Syssus?
I was listening to that nice Samuel Alito on C-Span today and those senators were all "Starry Dee Syssus this" and "Starry Dee Syssus that." I think starry-eyed people are very nice, and if that Mr. Alito thinks so too, then does that make him a bad judge?
And what's all this about rowing versus wading? If Mr. Alito wants to row to Ms. Syssus or wade to Ms. Syssus what difference does it make? He could take a motor boat to Ms. Syssus for all ...
Announcer: Laer!
Yes?
Announcer: They're not saying "Starry Dee Syssus." They're saying two Latin words, Stare and Decisis -- it means "precedent."
Oh. I'm sorry. Never mind.
(For those of you who, like Incredible Daughter #1, are scratching your heads right now, here's a Weekend Update transcript from the first season of Saturday Night Live. Read Emily Litella's segment, and enjoy!)
