Shoes Fitting Other Feet

In today's NYTimes' set-up piece for the impending showdown on judicial nominations, there's this delightful passage:

[Dem.Sen. Charles Durbin] and his fellow Democrats offer the drive against the filibuster as Exhibit No. 1 in arguing their broader case that the majority party is being led by those far out of the mainstream, is arrogant and abusive of its control of Congress and the White House.

"The more this small group of extremists calls the shots, the better chance Democrats have of regaining the Senate in 2006," Mr. Schumer, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, said earlier this week.
Arrogance, abusiveness, extremism ... my guess is that the American people are more likely to apply those adjectives to the minority Democrats than to the Republicans. After all, it's the Dems who still support partial birth abortion and terrorists' rights, and oppose a financial policy that's taking America out of the Clinton recession.
