More Peace -- Have You Noticed It?

Scanning the papers for the last few days, I've noticed something absent. It seems like a much greater calm has settled on Iraq. The car bombings, suicide bombings and sniper attacks leading up to the election have dropped off to almost nothing.

It's still a time for caution -- check out this LAT story about radical French Muslims captured in Iraq -- but it may be a time of greater hope!

By the way, doesn't the news that extremists are leaving France and Germany to fight in Iraq underscore Bush's theme that because we're fighting the bad guys in Iraq, we're not fighting them at home? Think the people of Germany and France may take note?
