11% Of The Way There

Former Iranian President Akbar Rafsanjani told a Kuwaiti news agency today: "We operated the first unit which comprises of 164 centrifuges, gas was injected, and we got the industrial output."

Mathematically at least, that means Iran is 10.933% of the way to the 1,500-centrifuge cascade experts say is necessary to produce highly refined, weapons-grade uranium.

Expect more "good news" later today, Rafsanjani said.

Gholamreza Aghazadeh, head of Iran's nuke team, said Iran is months away from operating a full cascade.

Cascade: Something falling over a precipice. How appropriate.
