A Chill Falls Over French Riots

Here's the AFP lead on the most recent night of rioting:
Curfews came into force in more than 30 French towns and cities, as the country's worst unrest since May 1968 showed signs of abating following two weeks of rampages.
Curfews? Here's the more likely reason why there was less violence tonight:
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies early will give way to cloudy skies late. Low 41F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
That's the Paris weather -- cloudy and cold. Of course, there's nothing like a nice fire to warm you up on a cold autumn evening.

I doubt if many French not named Jacques Chirac think their problem with youths alleged to be Muslim is nearly over just because of a curfew, and I'm sure they're doing a better job of linking weather to hooliganism than their media is.
