Sensenbrenner For President!

If only his name would fit on a bumper sticker! House Judiciary Committee chair James Sensenbrenner gaveled a hearing on the Patriot Act closed, turned off the mikes and left the Dems shouting into dead mikes today, in a move that will warm the hearts of anyone who is sick of "Gitmo equals Gulag" thinking.

The hearing was called by Dems to give their side a chance to talk. Their side included Amnesty International, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Arab American Institute. That's a threesome that will do loads of good for Dems seeking to achieve Chairman Howie's goal of winning back the suburbs and the rural districts.

According to the AP in the SacBee:

Sensenbrenner ... abruptly gaveled the meeting to an end and walked out, followed by other Republicans. Sensenbrenner declared that much of the testimony, which veered into debate over the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, was irrelevant.

Not just irrelevant, but seditious. The Dems want to put testimony in the Congressional record that terrorists can use to fire up the Arab Street. What are they thinking? Especially in light of the arrests this week in Lodi?

San Fran Nan called Sensenbrenner's action an example of GOP abuse of power. Sensenbrenner, though, was merely calling attention to the Dem's abuse of America.
