Poor Should Stay Poor: Sierra Club

The arrogance of the environmental movement is rarely more evident than when the Sierra Club holds board elections. (Unlike most environmental groups, the Sierra Club is somewhat democratic; its members elect board members annually in frequently raucous elections).

Last year, traditionalists beat back a challenge led by renegade board member Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace and founder of the AK47-armed Sea Shepherd Society, which claims it has sunk nine whaling boats. Watson already is a Sierra Club board member, and he's back again this year to try once again to stuff the board with enough eco-terrorists to sieze control.

Immigration is the bully pulpit Watson intends to use as his vehicle. Here's why he's so concerned (from AP, in the OC Register):
Sierrans for U.S. Population Stabilization (SUSPS), club activists seeking to limit immigration, are backing five candidates and pushing a "yes" vote, asserting that Americans are the world's biggest consumers, and that when immigrants come to this country they significantly increase their consumption.
Got that? They oppose immigration because they don't want people to better themselves,to live better lives. Mexicans come here and they are less malnutritioned, better clothed and get to enjoy a car. I know a lot of immigration activists feel the same way, but there's a difference: SUSPS doesn't differentiate between legal and illegal immigration; it wants all immigration stopped. And they are actively attacking our consumption: of water, oil, land and all the other things that sustain us.

Not only that, these radicals want to control what goes on in our bedrooms and make our family choices for us:
U.S. fertility, or birth rates, first dropped to less than replacement level fertility in 1972. Yet U.S. fertility is still dramatically higher than most all developed countries. For example, Europe's aggregate fertility varies between approximately 1.3 and 1.5, depending upon region. According to the Census Bureau's decennial census, U.S. population is growing by approximately 3.3 million per year. The growth due to natural increase is 1.6 million per year (total births minus deaths, including native-born births and births to immigrants).
Their solution includes more abortions and more ready availability of birth control. The enviros will sacrifice humans for species (Watson believes it's fine to kill an individual human if it protects an entire non-human species), and that sacrifice can begin before birth, before that human has established any "eco-guilt."

As the Sierra Club decides which direction to take, it needs to consider Paul Watson very carefully, looking at his immigration proposals, and looking at the radical direction he would take the already radical group. How radical, you ask? This radical, from an essay by Watson:

The choice is unique to this generation. Future generations will not have the chance and those that came before us did not have the vision nor the knowledge. It is up to us -- you and I.

Remain a parasite OR become an Earth Warrior. Serve your Mother and prosper OR serve civilization and besmear yourself with the filth and guilt of ecocide.

Remarkably biblical, isn't it. The first shall be last. Not favoring antichrists much, and as much as I question the increasing radicalism and litigiousness of the Sierra Club, I hope they vote again this year to remain parasites.
