Will Kofi Give It Up to W?
On Thursday, Kofi Annan will make a major speech on terrorism at the International Summit on Terrorism, Democracy and Security in Madrid.
Will Annan, who was so critical of our use of military force to effect regime change in Iraq, change his tune? Could he admit that the name of the conference is the answer: To fight terrorism, establish democracy, which brings security?
Given the UN strategy -- let your weapons instructors be manipulated, feed the tyrant through charity programs and run when things get hot -- hasn't worked out too well, it would be appropriate for Annan to jump on the Bush Bandwagon. We'll be listening.
