World Vision Asks An MSM Question
My friend at World Vision sent me this e-mail that brings very good news and raises an interesting question:
As the tsunami response moves out of the "Acute Emergency Phase" now, we can celebrate that, thanks to the world's quick and generous response, the feared epidemics of disease did not happen. Consider this: predictions were that a number EQUAL to those killed by the waves could be killed by drinking contaminated water. Is it possible that together we've just SAVED 150,000 human lives? The concept of saving the life of even one person is almost impossible for me to fathom--that's something in God's realm.Let's hope so. He then gave this update of how your contributions have helped:
Where's the media coverage of this amazing story of the non-deaths of 150,000 fellow human beings? That's the problem, it's not compelling to film someone NOT dying! Yet, as you pray, don't forget to thank God for this major miracle of compassion and coordination... and thank Him that you were alive to see the world respond like this and participate in that response. I believe that generations to follow will see this is a turning point in global caring -- I certainly do. May it become the "new normal"!
