Low Sunni Turn-Out -- Not An Issue

The 59 percent voter turn-out in Iraq and the strong showing by the Kurds limits the ability of Sunnis to cry foul -- something that must be a great disappointment to MSM editorialists who were pre-shamming the election because of anticipated low voter turn-out.

But when turn-out in Sunni provinces is only two percent an the national turn-out is pushing 60 percent, the thing that's proved is that the Sunnis misread the election and now risk marginalization if they don't join the process now. The top Sunni Mullahs get this, since they're calling for participation by their citizens. But will the New York Times?
