Tsunami Extravaganza: No News

Last night, the stars turned out to raise funds for tsunami relief.

This morning, there's no news. NBC's news release on its little extravaganza -- not quite important enough to interrupt its Peacock Network schedule (Dateline, Third Watch, Medical Investigation) -- says of the funds raised:

NBC said it had no immediate estimate on how much money was raised.

If this had been run by bloggers, you would have known minute-by-minute how much money was raised. And as each overpaid performer performed, commentary would have accompanied each note about how much they had given, or not given, to tsunami relief. Blogger producers also would have allowed a running commentary on how much NBC itself is pledging. A dollar-for-dollar match perhaps?
