The Making Of A Suicide Bomber

Nice looking guy ... Jordanian ... enjoyed a hedonistic lifestyle of drugs, sex and nihilism while in America ... pulled off the most deadly suicide bomb in the Iraq war ... his hand, chained to the steering wheel, the only body part that remained ... the part that made the ID those who know Raed Mansour Albanna find almost impossible to believe.

In a thrilling and upsetting three-clicker, the LATimes lays out Albanna's story, from failed lawyer to fun-loving days in America under an overstayed tourist visa, to 9/11, to horrific, murdering death.

It boils down to this: Albanna was unsuccessful, felt he had disappointed his father, was easily impressionable, and got in with the wrong crowd.

Typically, that means a guy might rob a store or sell drugs or, at worst, murder someone. But go down the wrong path ... the really wrong path ... in the Muslim world, and you can end up like Albanna, killing 132 Iraqis outside a medical clinic.
