I heard a clip from the presidential press conference this a.m. in which an unidentified but brassy sounding female reporter asked, in effect:

"A lot of conservative women lawyers are upset with your nomination of Miers because it appears to be affirmative action without resume, promoting a woman just to promote a woman. Would you care to respond?"

ARRRGH! Someone is qualified enough to be White House counsel -- qualified enough to give legal advice to the most powerful person on earth -- and they have no resume?

Could we please see the resumes of these alleged conservative women lawyers who allegedly came up with this allegation?
