MSM's Declines Continue

New York Times profits down 21% while the New York City economy grows 3.5%.

Boston Globe circulation down 3.7 percent.

LA Times circulation down 5.5 percent. (Thanx, Okieboy.)

As MSM continues to slip, publishers are wondering what to do. Perhaps they should listen to Rupert Murdoch. One of Laura Ingraham's quote of the week contest entries this week was Murdoch deriding MSM for thinking they're smarter than their readers. That's not a way to sell more papers, he cautioned.

My question: Who at the big newspapers is smart enough to fire all those smartypants journalistic elites and create a healthier culture?
