Schumer Defiles Rhenquists' Memory

Chuck Schumer talking to the NYTimes on Rhenquist:
"[The chief justice] served his country with honor, dignity and distinction for over 30 years. He was grounded in his beliefs and was a staunch defender of an independent judiciary."
If it were Rhenquist, not Roberts, were up for consideration now, Schumer would have nothing flattering to say about him. And to boil Rhenquist's entire conservative legacy down to "a staunch defender of an independent judiciary," as he villifies Roberts in what will be a failed attempt to force his will onto the judiciary ... well, he's not even in his grave yet, but Rhenquist is turning over in it.
